Controversial memorial to be placed among Mormon notables

Salt Lake City Utah – May 11, 2010

At 6 p.m., on June 16, 2010, a memorial headstone of unprecedented historical significance will be dedicated at the Hyrum Smith Family Plot in the southwest quadrant of the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 “N” Street, Salt Lake City UT 84103.

The headstone will be placed on the only remaining available gravesite reserved for the family members of Hyrum Smith, the faithful, older brother of Joseph Smith Jr., the translator of the Book of Mormon. The two brothers were killed in the Carthage Jail, Carthage, Illinois, on June 27, 1844.

The current owner of the gravesite is Christopher Marc Nemelka, who claims to be the reincarnated Hyrum Smith. His name will appear alongside Hyrum’s on the headstone. Christopher also claims to have translated the “sealed portion” of the gold plates referenced in the Book of Mormon, which Mormons (members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) have long awaited. He claims to have received this assignment from the resurrected Joseph Smith on June 16, 1987, in the Salt Lake Temple of the LDS Church.

Legal ownership of the Smith family gravesite was transferred to Christopher by Ida Smith, the great, great granddaughter of Hyrum Smith. As the founding director of the Women’s Research Institute at Brigham Young University, Ida had been a member of the LDS Church all her life until she was excommunicated by the church when she became convinced of the veracity of the translation of the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon and of the work in which Christopher is engaged. That work includes:

• The translation of the sealed portion of the gold plates, published in 2004: The Sealed Portion—The Final Testament of Jesus Christ.

• The re-translation of the first 116 pages of the original manuscript of Joseph Smith’s translation of the Book of Mormon published in 2004: The Book of Lehi—The Lost 116-Page Manuscript.

• The publication of the true meaning behind the symbolism contained in the book of Revelation of the New Testament in 2006: 666, The Mark of America—Seat of the Beast; The Apostle John's New Testament Book of Revelation Unfolded.

• The publication of the true meaning behind the symbolism of the LDS Temple Endowment in 2008: Sacred, Not Secret—The [Authorized and] Official Guide In Understanding The LDS Temple Endowment.

• The publication of a full disclosure of all the "mysteries of human life and existence" in 2009: HUMAN REALITY—Who We Are and Why We Exist!.

• The forthcoming publication of exact meanings and correct translations of words of Old Testament prophets: The Light of the Moon—The Plain and Precious Words of the Ancient Prophets.

• The forthcoming publication of the full undisclosed truth about Joseph Smith and his work: Without Disclosing My True Identity—The Authorized and Official Biography of the Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr.

• The presentation of the ONLY PLAN which the governments that control the human race can implement to eliminate poverty and inequality throughout the world, known as the Worldwide United Foundation, www.wwunited.org.

Melba, Idaho, USA – May 17, 2010: Joseph Smith, the Mormon prophet, could be the most controversial and mysterious religious figure of the past two hundred years. While volumes have been written about him—both in praise and contempt—the reality is that very little is known about what occupied his thoughts and the meaning behind his actions.
